Two dresses in two days… that may be a personal record for me, and I honestly just laughed out loud typing this. It’s so funny looking back, realizing how afraid of dresses I once was. I won’t lie I was a bit timid when I put this gorgeous yellow dress on, only because it’s a one-shape-silhouette. After I realized that I really liked this color, and the shape wasn’t as bad as I thought, I went with it. Go big or go home, always.
I talked a lot yesterday about body image and shopping for dresses that enhance my natural shape. I feel like today I’m throwing some of that out the window to be on trend, but a risk is worth the reward more often than not. Since this boxy shape is something I said I stay away from, I decided to give it a try to test my limits and learn to accept that how I may see myself in something I ‘m afraid of, may not be how other people see me.
Looking at the pictures, I actually love it. I love how it looks, and fits and even though it’s a little flowy, not hugging a single inch of my body, it makes me feel hella-good! Yes I just said that.
This off the shoulder dress in yellow is from my new favorite brand, She + Sky. I’ve fallen in love with their wonderful team, and their vision. They encouraged me to try this piece and I’m so glad I did. I highly recommend giving this number a chance in your wardrobe. Feel free to reach out if you are interested in any of the She + Sky pieces I have styled: email@example.com and we will work to get you the items you love.
