Lifestyle Post: Perfect Packing

I’m off to Atlanta for another few days of meetings and consultations for the fabulous Keeneland Shop.  As I prepare, I have to admit something: I have a serious case of OCD when it comes to planning everything I will need and making sure it’s packed up nice and neat. That’s not a great way to be these days, thanks to all the regulations, suitcase weight requirements and fees for seemingly every little thing you need to take with you. I long for the days when you could pack 20 pairs of shoes without it costing an arm and a leg.

So how in the world does an OCD, fashion-obsessed girl pack for a three-day trip? Here goes …

Make a List: Find out what you NEED to take (that’s different from what you WANT to take – know the difference).

Plan your outfits: Coordinate your clothes according to your trip agenda.

Monday: Pick outfits that you can wear from day to night. Top: Vineyard Vines, Slacks & Bangles: Forever21, Shoes: Naturalizer (Macys), Scarf: Keeneland Shop.
Tuesday: Take apart your pant suits and wear them as separates with more casual pieces. Jacket: Dillards (older), Slacks: TJ Maxx, Shoes: Nine West, Necklace: Lia Sophia
Wednesday: While flying for work events, you should be comfortable but work appropriate. Pair easy fabrics that complement each other. Top: Express, Scarf: Keeneland Shop, Necklace: Jcrew via Ebay, Slacks: Forever 21, Shoes: TJ Maxx.

Be neat: Fold your clothes ladies, who wants more wrinkles? (There are tons of packing/folding tips online.)

Accessorize & prioritize: For each outfit you take, remember to accessorize. Tip: Protect your accessories and necessities in good cases or containers. Also, if you can wear the same necklace or earrings with two different outfits, that will save room for something else you might need to take.

Jewelry organizers are easy to find. Use one like this to separate your pieces, and keep them organized while in your suitcase.
This cosmetic bag is a life saver. It is fully lined, easy to clean, and packable for all of my trips.

Voila! Celebrate your awesome job packing…See y’all back in Lexington!

Yes I love pink, and I can’t go on a single trip without my Keeneland Shop Longchamp bag. I travel like Mary Poppins with this purse.

XOXO – Alex
