about

My name is Alex McLean Sharp, and I’m so glad you’ve stopped by Lex What Wear. Nine years ago I moved to Nashville, TN from New York City, where I was living out my dream of working in fashion. Through Lex What Wear I’ve been able to share all of my experiences, both fashion and lifestyle related, with all of my readers back home in Lexington, KY and with the rest of the world every day. Although I’m playing the part of a Music City girl right now, I’m a true Kentucky gal through and through and my heart always bleeds blue!

By day you can find me working my tail off in the music industry, and by night I am an inspired blogger, hoping to share style advice with my loyal readers, friends and family.

It’s often said, “You are what you wear.” If that’s the case, then I am a fun-loving, creative, free spirit. In my not-so-humble opinion, that pretty much hits the nail on the head. I’m just sayin’…

I’m a PR and marketing graduate of Western Kentucky University and, after three years in NYC, I I was able to find my true calling. My husband and I now call Nashville our home, and I work full time at the Country Music Association. In August of 2019 our family grew by one, as we added a sweet baby boy to the mix, Mac. Our family expanded and our hearts grew even more in December of 2023, as we welcomed a second baby boy, Teddy, to our crew.

In other “about me” news, I’m a longtime social media fanatic, a.k.a., I couldn’t live without Pinterest or Instagram. I’m a reality tv enthusiast, I’ve seen every season of the Bachelor, and I love anything on Bravo or E! HGTV and Food Network are also my jam. I could challenge anyone to Chopped or Guy’s Grocery games. I would consider myself a diehard Kentucky Wildcats fan, especially when it comes to basketball season! What KY girl wouldn’t?

Creating this blog is something I’ve dreamed about for a long time, and each day I hope my vision and creativity shines through. I also hope you that if you learn only one thing from reading Lex What Wear it’s that fashion is personal and style is more than skin deep. There are few rights and wrongs when it comes to what you wear as long as you love it and you wear it with class and style.
