Slightly scandalous? Well, Maybe…
At times this asymmetrical trend can read bold, edgy and slightly over-the-top, but in fashion it’s making all the right moves to be a carry-over trend for fall and winter (think: tights, booties, etc.). I am quite obsessed with the funky edge of the asymmetrical hemline, especially on pocket shorts and mini skirts for summer. When styled carefully and tastefully, this look is will have you making every possible best-dressed list around.
My Asymmetrical Tip:
Have fun with this trend! It’s a simple way to do the “body-con” style without looking overtly sexy. Make sure you pay attention to the fit and length of the shorts/skirt. You want to make sure the points of the asymmetrical piece hit at the right spot on your thighs. You also want to pair this piece with a fun blouse. I prefer a printed, flair top with a solid bottom. You can do a partial shirt tuck or leave it all hanging out. Also, pair your outfit with shoes that lengthen your legs. Try any of these styles pictured above, too!
