BOO!

The superhero tu-tu effect can be defined as a classic super hero look reinvented with abundant strength, new powers, and a whole lot of sassiness. Yes, I definitely just made that up! But really, a superhero who wears a tutu…now that’s my kind of powerful. This past weekend my friends and I had our annual Halloween party that doubles as a birthday celebration for of a few of our favorite girls. We will go ahead and chalk this party up as a BIG success, because lots of spooky-fun was had by all.

This year, our costumes were a little more work than usual (as you can see), but we were definitely show-stoppers when we hit the town. Thanks to our crafty friend Danon and Pinterest, we took on the DIY project of tutu making. With a few hours of work, each of us transformed into our fave iconic super hero with a touch of added flair. The tutus made of tulle and elastic were pretty easy after a few trial-and-error episodes. The method is pretty easy once you get it down pat: measure, cut, loop, pull, and repeat until your tutu makes a complete skirt.
