Blog + Chill, No. 1

If you missed my introductory post to this new series, you can read more HERE. I am so excited to share a closer look into my life with you all each week, by bringing you a glimpse of daily aventures at home, work and play.

Today’s topic is ALL about inspiration. I’m sharing 3 ways I get inspired to continue to create, write, and share through blogging. This series will sometimes focus on more serious issues, and sometimes more lighthearted topics. I think starting off on a fun note, is the best way to get the ball rolling.

So without further ado, let’s get to business. If ever you feel like sharing your personal tips and tricks, life hacks or stories, please do. Email me: alex@lexwhatwear. Sharing our stories is one of the most powerful things we can do today.

1. START WITH A VISION

One of the first things I do to get inspired is envision the result of what I’m trying to achieve. If I’m trying to make a damn good batch of brownies, I’m going to envision what it takes to make those brownies, present the brownies, and devour the brownies. It’s a visual process that takes me step by step. You can achieve this first phase by doing things like: making a list of goals, creating a vision board, collecting images to use as an example, and fueling your brain with positive thoughts!

2. EMBRACE TRIAL & ERROR

A lot of what I do is based on a phase I personally don’t enjoy that much: trial and error. I always love the result, but getting there through a process of trial and error can be difficult. You have to remember that you’re going through this phase for a reason. That reason is what makes you or your idea successful. Even our greatest and most powerful creators have to live through this phase, and somehow they get through it. This inspires me beyond belief. I get through it by focusing solely on the goal, and dedicating myself to the the goal rain or shine. It’s through watching others create, reading and learning from others, and finding a way to remain true to my style all the while. Whenever you fail, take a deep breath and get back up and try again.

3. RENEW YOUR PASSION

Sometimes when you’re working hard towards something, you forget your passion along the way. Finding unique ways to renew that passion and drive to achieve your goal is critical to the end result. I am inspired daily by passionate people, projects driven purely by passion, and finding my own passion when I least expect it. Pinterest is one tool I use daily to reignite my passion. I literally love the ideas that stem from a few minutes of Pinterest. I also think taking a break every day to just breathe, can give you that passion back. Lastly, passion comes from a clear mind, and clear heart, and fresh eyes. Good beauty sleep makes a HUGE difference in any passionate woman. Don’t believe me… go get some sleep!
