What was the inspiration for starting your blog?
Inspiration for Lex What Wear originated with finding my own personal style. I think there is true magic in believing in your style, and understanding why it’s the perfect fit for your body and personality. With that said, being able to express who I am through my wardrobe has given me new confidence and allowed me to become a woman who believes in herself. Since I started my blog, I feel stronger, more ambitious, and more willing to try new things.
How do you describe your personal style?
I’m a country-born girl, so I appreciate the little things in fashion. I would say that I am a casual gal who dabbles in a few glamorous things. I’m not your average fashion blogger, meaning that I don’t spend $500 on an outfit. I like to bargain hunt and find a good deal. My readers love that I can make an inexpensive piece look like it’s worth so much more. I think that explains a lot of my personal style.

What brought you to New York City?
A very big DREAM brought me to New York City. I never thought I’d make it here, but look at me now: I’m going on year number two in the city, and the adventure has been incredible. This dream began at a young age, and I saw it through with pure determination. I plan to live this dream as long as it lasts.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned?
Trust yourself before anyone else. You have to know yourself and believe in yourself before you can ever live life fully and with confidence. I think it is one of the many keys to being happy and successful in life, love, and career.
What are your favorite NYC stores and boutiques?
I have to say that I LOVE NYC thrift shopping. It’s become a hobby for me to search out the most incredible vintage shops and specialty boutiques around the city. Other than that, I’m fond of ZARA, Madewell, and of course Haute Hippie.
Tell us about your favorite Chelsea Hall frames.
I am so obsessed with the Belle in Cherry Cola. The fit is perfect for my petite, oval face. It’s a statement piece that reads casual yet spunky. They definitely fit my style profile to a T.
