Fashion at the Races

Last week I posted a little information about the first-ever American version of the Fashion at the Races Fashion Show. This style-infused event was hosted at Keeneland this past Saturday, and despite some pretty yucky weather, the hats were awe-inspiring and the fashion was fabulous!

Fashion at the Races got its start in Austrailia and quickly became a popular event known for big personalities, big fashion, and even bigger headwear. The Austrailians consider Fashion at the Races a prime opportunity to show off the fanciest of duds among the who’s who of racing. This event is a HUGE statewide celebration of all that we love about the races – city glamour, country style, and regional pride. Male and Female contestants strut their stuff on the runway to win some of the most sought-after prizes, including new cars, big jewels, and lots of $$ cash money!

So why not bring something so extravagant to America, and especially to the horse capital of the world? Lucky enough for me, I had a front-row seat at the American version of the event at Keeneland. The Keeneland Gift Shop was a proud sponsor of the event, and we were able to open up shop in the middle of all the action. Host Kristen Pflum of LEX18 was the entertaining host and TOPS in Lex photographed the excitement of the day.  I, of course, had to get a few pics to share. So here ya go, and make sure you follow these folks @Fashionattheraces.

A big Congrats to Fashion at the Races 2012 winners: Anne-Tyler Morgan and Mark Coley!!
