How To Get Out Of A Winter Rut
My 10 Tips For Fighting Off The Cold
I just said to my mother last night, “this winter HAS TO END!” Who’s with me? If I could see a show of hands I know you’d all have them raised high. It just seems as if the cold days, the snow storm alerts, the school closings, and the awful commutes to work have no end in sight. But for the sake of my sanity, I’ve decided to dig my way out of this winter depression with warm thoughts and fun activities. Here’s my guide to kissing winter a very SWEET GOODBYE!
1. Light It Up
Light your favorite scented candles all over the house.
You’ll be surprised how the smell arouses your senses and allows you to feel calm and collected.
2. Rock Out
Turn up the jams and have yourself a dance party, girl.
You deserve to feel free, alive, and fantastic even if you’re snowed-in 3 ft.
3. Paint It
Spring really is coming soon, even though I have to convince myself everyday.
So pull out those favorite spring nail colors and give yourself a much-needed mani/pedi.
You’ll feel beautiful and pampered.
4. DIY
Going stir crazy? Put Pinterest to good use, and utilize your old things to make something new and fabulous.
Find a DIY that suits your style and you’ll be busy for several hours having fun.
5. Get Organized
When I’ve hit winter’s rock bottom, I get out my spring clothes, handbags, and jewelry and start to organize.
What will I keep and what will I toss?
The thought of wearing spring clothes just excites me after coats and snow boots.
6. Vacation-Plan
Today is the perfect day to start planning your next trip.
How much money will you need to save? Where will you stay? Who’s going?
Find the answers to your questions and start the plan.
If you’re like me, you have 900 weddings to attend this summer, so I’ve already got the calendar out!
7. Recipe Redemption
Have a recipe you’ve been wanting to try? How about dinner tonight?
Give your recipe a go and keep your family full and happy.
8. Fresh Flower Fix
Flowers may not be blooming outside, but brighten up your home with your favorite flowers.
Fresh flowers always make me smile. They are colorful, gorgeous, and spunky.
Place them in a central part of the home. Everyone will need a glimpse of your fresh blooms.
9. Walk It Out
So you can’t get out to the gym, or you can’t take your puppy to the park… walk it out.
Walking releases energy and and is the perfect exercise for any age and body type.
Walk the route of your house if you don’t have a treadmill, or walk during the commercials of your favorite show.
10. Have a Drink
Here it comes; when all else fails, pour yourself a drink honey.
Indulge in your favorite cocktail and kick back those feet.
