I honestly don’t know where to begin this post. I am full of happiness and gratitude. This past year is one I will cherish forever and remember with a big smile on my face. That alone makes me realize that chasing my dreams has been well worth the sometimes bumpy road.

On August 1, 2012, one of my biggest dreams came true. I was fortunate enough to launch Lex What Wear through an amazing friendship with the gorgeous Lou What Wear, Danielle Davis. After months of planning,  the two of us embarked on a similar journey that has provided so much to be thankful for.  THANK YOU Danielle for believing in me and mentoring me. I will always look to you as my best bloggin’ sister around.

As I began the big journey, I realized that I had found the perfect outlet for my life’s passion. Once it became real, writing about and photographing the special little moments was my favorite part of the whole shabang. I couldn’t have done any of it without having my mom alongside of me capturing all the outfits and my crazy ideas on camera. When I saw each picture she took transform from a small concept to a real-life post, I could hardly believe we’d created the “short story” told every day to my readers/followers.

It was’t long before I realized that I had done something special for myself. I had allowed myself to simply focus on my path in life and follow my dreams. Not too far out from the launch of the site was I searching for apartments and teaming up with my parents to plan my lifelong dream of moving to New York City. It was like that: I packed my bags, said my “see ya laters,” and carried my dreams and Lex What Wear to the city.

Since, it’s been the ride of a lifetime. It has its moments, but it’s everything I imagined and more. And let me just say this… Lex What Wear has been the foundation for this journey and it guides me everyday. I don’t want to make this any longer, but I want to make sure I convey the extreme gratitude I have for all of my readers, followers, fellow dreamers, and of course my solid support system. It is for all of you that these childhood dreams have become the present and the future.
