High On NYC Life
A Historic View Of A City So Grand
On gorgeous fall days (like we had this past weekend), an ideal afternoon is spent brunching with pals and strolling the High Line. The High Line is one of the most gorgeous, revitalized pieces of New York City’s past. In 1934, as part of the West Side Improvement Project, the High Line was opened to trains running from 34th Street to Spring Street.
The original tracks were designed to go through the center of blocks, rather than over the avenue in order to carry goods to and from Manhattan’s largest industrial district. Today, all thanks to Friends of the High Line, the historic tracks are preserved and open as a public space to New Yorkers and tourists.
Not to bore you, but you should absolutely 100 percent check out the High Line when visiting the city. Today’s {Fall Adventure} takes place near the end of the High Line around 31st Street. Thanks to my dear friend, and amazing designer Michael Mann, we were able to score some cool shots of our surroundings.
