GAME DAY READY

When it’s football season in the bluegrass that means one thing: tailgating! If we continue to get some W’s this season, football season in the bluegrass might mean two things: tailgating and football. At any rate, tailgate time is definitely about the food, the fun and the booze, but it’s also about the style.

Yes I do believe in looking cute, wearing your sundress and ankle boots / cowboy boots to tailgate, but I also firmly believe in dressing in whatever the hell you want. Just because we are from the south, doesn’t mean we have to be preppy 24/7. Can’t believe I’m saying this out loud (or via the blog) but change it up, look cool, and have fun.

My version of “cool” are these overalls that originally were pants. I cut them off to make them shorts and love how they turned out. I also own about 4 snapback hats for game days. This one pictured above is my favorite. It’s a little bit retro and very easy to style. Paired with my high top sneakers and a “Kentucky Themed” plaid top, tied at the waist, my look is not only comfortable for the entire tailgate, but it’s far from normal for a day at Commonwealth Stadium.
