A Peek At My Top Looks
From Fall 15’s Hottest Runways
If there was only enough time / blog space to share what I love about every show from Fall 15 NYFW, I would so, totally do it! However, I’m a working girl and blogger on the side, so today’s snapshot is a recap from some of my favorite brands and designers. Want to see the whole sha-BANG? Check out all of this fashion week’s runway looks on STYLE.COM. I’ve also made each photo collage clickable, so check out more from each designer with one click. Enjoy!
KATE SPADE : Magical Stories
A tale of whimsical, fun and playful stories combined with straight forward concepts, seen in both cocktail attire, and sensible structured silhouettes. In my opinion, Creative Director, Deborah Lloyd has done it again. From the preppy bows, to the gorgeous furs, I wish I could break the bank on a brand NEW Kate Spade fall wardrobe.
OSCAR de la RENTA : The Big Debut
It was Peter Copping’s first show as Oscar de la Renta’s successor. The audience: an a-list roster of fashion moguls, representing both present and past for the brand. If you are obsessed with Oscar de la Renta like I am, you MUST read this review by STYLE.com. Copping’s inaugural collection synced classic evening with a touch of youthfulness by using a mix of fabrics, especially lace. Copping introduced new necklines and exquisite deep colors (bordeaux, midnight, and violet). The runway was graced with Copping’s extreme gratitude and poise for a gorgeous finale.
J. CREW : The Right Recipe
This ready-to-wear brand is an obvious front-runner for me. For Fall 15, J. Crew hit it big with a winning recipe: a dash of sophistication with a very little sprinkling of sparkle. The natural showy-ness of the J. Crew was definitely there, but it was toned down a bit by introducing wools, fringes and suedes into the mix, as well as brilliant pairings of elegance and evocative colors. Oh-La-La!
BCBG Max Azria: Layered
An easy bohemian look is always fantastic, especially when its embellished. The California-inspired look of BCBG Max Azria is easily layered for any weather (especially the freezing cold NYC right now). This collection had exquisite attention to the finer details and beadwork. Hands down, my favorite addition to this collection was the turtleneck. It worked, and it worked well for many of the looks that strolled down the runway.
TOMMY HILFIGER : Touchdown
From the Park Avenue Armory, Tommy Hilfiger transformed this large venue into his own football stadium as models took to the field in 70s-prep silhouettes. You could see each look play across the jumbotron, flashing everything from plaid and furs to football paraphernalia, representing the classic Hilfiger logo. This collection was very true to Hilfiger’s namesake company, but the setting and design were much more elevated and intriguing than past seasons (in my opinion).
