#NYFW Voyage To The Future

It was bright, it was sohphisticated, it was grungy and it was hott. It was patterns, it was leathers, it was bold mixes of bohemian meets rock-and-roll. It was the ever so clever designer Rebecca Minkoff and her Fall 2013 collection that has us all inspired and itching to get our hands on her new, futuristic pieces first.

This week my focus is fully on experiencing my very first New York Fashion Week and detailing it all for Lex What Wear readers as well as on my column at KyForward.com! I knew before NYFW kicked off last week that I’d be stoked to cover Rebecca Minkoff’s runway looks. Her pre-fall collection was Amelia Earhart inspired, so I knew I could NOT miss her incredible collection of perfection.

Minkoff has been and IS all of the fashion buzz and she left us pondering the future. Minkoff did what she does best and incorporated tailored pieces that were oozing with sex appeal. One reporter said, “Rebecca Minkoff’s fall collection offered a tomboyish twist on the basics.” But my favorite part of all: Minkoff showcased exaggerated shapes, forms, and colors that appealed to the modern-dressed girl. I was dying over her unexpected puff-sleeve dresses and jackets. And who can forget the live performance by Nashville duo, Wild Club? The band turned the runway into a party!

Ready to see a few looks???
