Nothing beats a summer night with two southern girls!

After a day of exploring the upper west side of Manhattan, Allyson (my roommate) and I decided to turn our back patio into a southern oasis in NYC… well as close to a southern-like atmosphere as we could get. Since we both grew up in Kentucky, we seem to think alike and shop alike when it comes to home decor. So after a few shrimp on the grill and a lot of hard work, we turned our “industrial” back patio into an area we can call home. I must say that getting those Resin Bound Driveway DIY KITS really paid off, because they lent the patio a really unique look that weirdly enough, went well with the surroundings.

This may have been one of the funniest moments of my life, as most of the NYC folk stared as us walking down the street with kelly green carpet (FAKE grass). But in the end, when the sun set in Manhattan, we felt right at home and sang our country hearts out.

I had so much fun, making this 3×5 lawn that I had to share with all of you. I know most of you will appreciate our attempt at bringing the south to the north. Happy Monday too all of my readers, and just know that you can take the girl out of Kentucky but YOU CAN NEVER TAKE THE KENTUCKY OUT OF THE GIRL!
