It’s a “mad for plaid” season; are you in touch with the tartan trend? The classic plaid pattern is known for cool fall and winter days, and is designed for numerous sillhouettes. This year we’ve seen it all: plaid dresses, slacks, boots, blouses, and even men’s accessories.

It’s preppy yet classic with a twist of bold this season. Designers like Tory Burch, Michael Kors, Tommy Hilfiger, and Ralph Lauren have also embraced the checkered phenomenon, designing runways pieces so extravagant that plaid has taken on the most modern looks.

The 2012-2013 plaid is known to look divine with a hint of leather, or a pop of bold color. It pairs beautifully with a faux leather vest, and is incredibly handsome with a men’s sport coat, scarf, and dark denim. Plaid is a man or woman print and designed for a day in the country or an evening in the city.
