Yesterday, I was chatting with a dear friend about posts for the blog. She said, “why not do a holiday party post showing what to wear to an upcoming event?” Well, my apologies Kelli because I took you up on your suggestion, but I’m not sure this is what you had in mind.

In the midst of the glamourous holiday parties and events our Facebook feeds are overcrowded with ugly sweaters and horribly knit Santa vests. The home for the holidays/Christmas party trend is often defined by tackiness, and I’m all about an ugly sweater every now and then.

This may be the ONLY time I will ever say this, but the tackier the wardrobe the better for this kind of “fashion-inspired” event. This is one of few opportunities for adult guys and gals to dress ridiculously and be 100-percent acceptable.

Many of you will agree that a themed party is generally the best kind of holiday party around. So here comes my disclaimer… Don’t be the one who refuses to dress silly when the attire requirement =  pure tackiness. I challenge you to have some fun, laugh at yourself, and rock the heck out of a Santa face.
