Urban Dictionary would use “That’s Clutch” in the context of the crucial moment that comes between winning and losing. So I guess it’s safe to say you’d be losing if you didnt invest in this lust-worthy bag?!?
In the style world, a clutch is a must-have accessory that has taken to the fashion realm like a true natural. A clutch is no longer just meant for a night out, holding your lipgloss and proof of ID – yes, I used a clutch only for that purpose before the real-world, but now clutches are the “it” bag for many designers and retailers worldwide. Now I know we all love a BIG bag to tote around all of our essential daily items (hint: my oversized Longchamp bag). For your sake and mine, big bags will always be on the list of style needs rather than wants. But for once, I am thinking smaller.
A clutch can come in an assortment of shapes, sizes, colors, and patterns. Just what we need right? More shopping choices! But hold that thought and think of purchasing a clutch like you would an evening outfit. It’s that winning moment when you know you have a hot outfit and a hot accessory to boot (no man needed).
My clutch obsession has become quite like my other obsessions…. out of control. But here are a few of my personal favorites and a few brand tips for buying a new one.
Make a statement: Dress up this pint-size bag and your outfit for that matter with sequence, gems, studs, etc. P.S. – These were consignment finds!
Play with color: You can go bright or you can be mysterious. Color preference depends on your mood, dress, and occasion. I love the deep shade of this Dooney & Bourke, and I also adore my Aldo turquoise clutch that doubles as a shoulder bag.
Stock up on the basics: You can never go wrong with your solids and neutrals. This black, ruffled number by Jessica Simpson has gotten me through several seasons now.
Lay out your options: Just as you would an outfit, lay out your accessories and match them to your outfits.
