#TGIF! Never have sweatshirts, a famous memoir, some combat boots, a Michael Kors bag, and checkerboard patterns sounded so good together. Well today it’s like music to my ears. Why? Because this is the Friday 5!
Every Friday live from the streets of NYC I’ll be listing the week’s top 5 items I’ve spotted and must have ASAP! From the latest trends to the most sought after accessories, I’ll be naming the product and linking it too. Just for y’all, the must have items are only a quick click away.
1. READING MATERIAL
The must-read story of the extraordinary talent and fierce behind Grace Coddington, creative director of Vogue and an awe-inspiring international icon. Grace introduces readers to famous designers, hairstylists, makeup artists, photographers, models and celebrities. All in 416 pages, Grace shares her signature images and what she defines as the height of fashion.
2. A SWEATSHIRT
As seen on fashion blogs all across the country, this ASOS sweatshirt stands for much more than casual comfort. The Question of Chic Sweatshirt by ASOS stands for representation of sustainable fashion made with love and respect to people and the environment as a whole. “Question Of” is a socially responsible t-shirt label made in Africa with digital prints and slogans developed in collaboration with a group of talented artists. (You must check this out!!)
3. A CARY-ALL BAG
Until living in NYC, I never truly appreciated the simplicity of one, large, cary-all bag. This specific Michael Kors bag has made it to my top 5 this week because it is an accessory that will delicately hold all of your most beloved items and will carry them from place to place with sophistication and class. (Being 100% honest, I am trying to write this one as persuasive as possible incase a particular someone is reading so they know what I would like for my birthday!!!!!!!) But seriously, everyone needs a cary-all tote!
4. COMBAT BOOTS
What’s cool and girly chic? Uh, combat boots are! Combat boots are true representation of strength and comfort all in one! This specific style of boot is EVERYWHERE and I mean it, too. If you easily welcome new fashion trends, you better jump on this bandwagon. Why? The look is sexy and the feel is super comfortable. You can walk anywhere and everywhere in these and look and feel powerful and 100 percent in charge of your look. If anything you should try a pair on and see what you think.
5. CHECKERBOARD PATTERN
From Jessica Alba to Kristen Stewart, people everywhere are going crazy over the checkerboard pattern that graced the runways of spring 2013 fashion week (specifically the Louis Vuitton’s collection). Not only is black and white the color combo for spring, but it is chic and mod-inspired in the checkerboard design. You can try this ASOS skirt for starters!
