March 8th marks a day celebration for all women of all backgrounds. Since the 1990’s International Women’s Day has been observed, and I whole-heartedly support this day of womanly recognition. Today I feel an overwhelming need to shout, “You go girl,” and so what if I do? #WomanPower!!
Today is also FRIDAY, so more reason to celebrate right? The Friday 5 is feeling totally female-inspired so I am bringing you my TOP 5 influential gals. Well maybe one of those names may not be so famous world-wide, but in my eyes she’s a female rock-star!
1. The Idol
Introducing my momma, Terri McLean. News Editor at Kyforward.com, stellar friend, role model, and incredible mother. Isn’t she hot?
2. The Ultimate Entrepreneur
The stunning Satya Twena. Founder of Discover Pique, known designer and milliner for Satya Twena, LLC., and a true inspiration and friend. (P.S. she loves the KY y’all!)
3. The Stylist
My inspiration for years, Rachel Zoe. A distinguished stylist, editor and designer, renowned for her effortless take on glamour. Can I just put you in my pocket Rachel?
4. The President (of a brand)
The determined and distinguished Deborah Lloyd. Deborah is the President of Kate Spade, aka “The Queen of Spade.” You gotta read this article all about one of my favorite brand’s queen bee.
5. The Dreamer Turned Star
The Laguna Beach native turned design guru, Lauren Conrad. She is the face of a growing brand, a best-selling author, a famous TV personality, a blogging genius, and so much more. After meeting her in person in 2012, I must say she is a shining light of inspiration for young women like herself. You gotta see her site here (I read it every day)!
… And all 5 women lead me to believe that this quote is still true, ” The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.” – Eleanor Roosevelt
