Style-spotting for Lexington LIVE from New York City!
Admit it… when you get dressed for work, the gym, a night out with the girls or that special party … you are dressing to make a statement. Impressions are everything, right?
You know as well as I do, though, it’s not all that easy, especially for us girls. We’ve got both men and women sizing us up (and dressing us down) every time we walk out the door. If we were dressing solely for a man’s approval, then short, shiny and skin-tight would probably work every time. But women – they’re the toughest critics of all. “Did you seewhat she’s wearing?” “How could she leave the house looking like that?” … you get the picture.
Besides, I’d rather spend my time answering more important questions, like “What are the latest fashion trends and where can I find them?”
That’s the idea behind Lex What Wear – keeping track of the the always-changing world of fashion from here in New York City, then helping you bring it home to Lexington.
Every day, you’ll find photos, links to other bloggers, interviews with local fashionistas, info about the newest trends and more … all available at the click of a button.
About me
My name is Alex, and I’m living out my dream in New York City. I have a passion for fashion, and I live to talk about it – especially when it comes to sharing the NYC fashion experience with my readers in Lexington and the rest of Kentucky. Although I’m a city girl today, I am a Kentucky girl through and through and my heart still bleeds blue (Go Cats!).
By day I am just a hard-working gal trying to make it in the fashion world, and by night I am an inspired fashion blogger hoping to share style advice with my loyal readers, friends and family back home in Lexington.
It’s often said, “You are what you wear.” If that’s the case, then I am a fun-loving, creative, free spirit. In my not-so-humble opinion, that pretty much hits the nail on the head. I’m just sayin’…
I’m a recent PR and marketing graduate of Western Kentucky University and, after a brief stint with a PR firm, I headed closer to my true calling and spent two years working in all aspects of the retail business.
I’m a longtime social networking addict, and I couldn’t live without Pinterest, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and more. I’m also a big fan of Bravo TV, my Chuck Taylors and, like most everyone else in Kentucky, the UK Wildcats! If I could meet one celebrity, it would be TV stylist Rachel Zoe.
Creating this blog is something I’ve dreamed about for a long time, and each day I hope my passion shines through. I also hope you that if you learn only one thing from reading Lex What Wear it’s that fashion is personal and style is more than skin deep. There are few rights and wrongs when it comes to what you wear as long as you love it and you wear it with class and style.
I am so impressed with your creativity! This will be a blog I watch and read from here on!
