My name is Alex McLean Sharp, and I’m so glad you’ve stopped by Lex What Wear. I just recently moved to Nashville, TN from New York City, where I was living out my dream of working in fashion. Through Lex What Wear I’ve been able to share all of my experiences, both fashion and lifestyle related, with all of my readers back home in Lexington, KY and with the rest of the world every day. Although I’m playing the part of a Music City girl right now, I’m a true Kentucky gal through and through and my heart always bleeds blue!
By day I am just a hard-working gal trying to make it in the fashion world, and by night I am an inspired blogger hoping to share style advice with my loyal readers, friends and family.
It’s often said, “You are what you wear.” If that’s the case, then I am a fun-loving, creative, free spirit. In my not-so-humble opinion, that pretty much hits the nail on the head. I’m just sayin’…
I’m a recent PR and marketing graduate of Western Kentucky University and, after a brief stint with a PR firm, I headed closer to my true calling and spent two years working in all aspects of the retail business. Now, after three years in NYC, I have dabbled in the fashion industry and found my true calling. Today I’m ready to tackle Nashville with a wide-range of skills and some amazing experiences.
I’m a longtime social media fanatic, a.k.a., I couldn’t live without Pinterest or Instagram. I’m a reality tv enthusiast, so I’m into anything on Bravo or E! and I totally dig HGTV. I’d say I’m slightly addicted to buying sneakers, and I would consider myself a diehard Kentucky Wildcats fan! What KY girl wouldn’t? If I could interview anyone about their personal style, it would be a toss up between Bianca Jagger and Ali Macgraw, because I’m totally enthralled by 70’s trends and icons.
Creating this blog is something I’ve dreamed about for a long time, and each day I hope my vision and creativity shines through. I also hope you that if you learn only one thing from reading Lex What Wear it’s that fashion is personal and style is more than skin deep. There are few rights and wrongs when it comes to what you wear as long as you love it and you wear it with class and style.
