Bluegrass Tradition

It’s the horses, the beautiful landmark, the fashion, the crowds, the exciting races, and so much more. To Kentucky, Keeneland is more than just a track, it’s a tradition…

The first weekend in October means one thing here: Keeneland Opening Weekend. Never been to Keeneland? Check out Keeneland here, and the Keeneland Gift Shop.

As most of you know I work for Keeneland in retail operations, and let’s just say, this is our best and busiest time of the year. The mornings are early and evenings late, but the day is spent enjoying one of the best traditions known to Kentucky.

My days here are filled with fashion, accessories, and promoting a world-renowned brand. Equestrian trends have taken off this season, and I am witnessing some of the finest fall fashion in the South. Boots, tights, scarves, and fall’s best accessories are sported by men and women on the grounds of Keeneland every day. Call it people-watching if you will, but witnessing first-hand some of the best-dressed of Lexington is too much fun.

From my little spot in the paddock at Keeneland, I was able to snap a few pics for my readers to provide a glimpse of my weekend. Each weekend of live racing, I hope to share a little of what I do every day with you all.

P.S. – Thanks to my roommate and best girls for helping me out with pictures too!

XOXO – Alex
