When creating outfits, the most cost-effective way to do it is to put together pieces you normally wouldn’t put together. So you imagined that shirt with another pair of slacks? Or adding a scarf to a bland shirt to dress it up? It’s OK to dream up any combination of pieces you already own. Getting the biggest bang for your buck is easier than you may think.
My tip: Lay your clothes on the floor (as long as it’s clean) and try different combos. Make a casual look and then a dressier look like I have done below. You will be amazed at what works, as well as what may not work at all. If you’re still a newcomer to the “real world” like me, buying new outfits for every occasion isn’t possible. This is the quick trick I use all the time.
