Street style happens daily here. It changes around the clock as different people filter onto the sidewalks, to and from buildings, and in and out of cabs, subways, and busses. No style is the same; people of the city speak individuality and creativity to the fullest.
What we call “street style” has impacted fashion for decades. From the streets to the catwalk to the tabloids and magazine covers, we’re all enthralled with what is seen on the streets, and more importantly, what might be seen next.
Here is some of the street style you will see “next” in Lexington:
- Matchstick pants are your new BFF – Look slimmer, taller, and wear in any print.
- Leather is back, better than ever – Pair a short black, leather mini with a denim blouse and booties.
- Burgundy isn’t just for “Anchor Man” – this is the hottest color for fall.
- Masculine is the new feminine – Buy masculine pieces to accent your more feminine pieces. The combo is sleek and modern, hot!
- Get your hair “did” up-do style – Buns are all the craze. Go for natural, sleek, up-dos that flatter your face.
- Think cheetah – No really; cheetah and animal prints are the new black. Go for your animal-like instincts.
- Loafers are loved – Be comfy and casual this fall thanks to the return of the loafers! Solids or prints will both do. Just dress accordingly.
- Mysterious sunnies – Sunglasses aren’t just for summer! Keep them in your bag year-round for sunny days and sleek-dress occasions.
- Make a statement – Jewelry is more important than ever; big necklaces make the simple outfits, standout outfits. Linked bracelets can also be worn to accent your simplest ensembles. Pair your linked pieces with stackable bangles, or wear them solo.
- Bag it up – Accessories are also on the rise, and designers are following suit. We’re seeing a lot of Chanel-inspired bags, long chain purses, and bejeweled clutches.
Lastly, I charge you all to be yourself and create your own trends. You really never know what you’ll see on the streets… It could be your idea filling the runways and fashion mags next. Be a trend-setter.
