Tim Gunn, Project Runway’s main man, has been a bright light of inspiration and a source of style education ever since he showed up on TV screens across America telling designer hopefulls to “make it work.”
I secretly (well, not so much a secret anymore) hear his voice in my brain when I pick out my outfits. “Consider this…” “Streamline the look…” His stern tone echoes in my style-focused brain on a regular basis. While establishing this number (pictured above), I could see the well-tailored man and hear him saying, “be effortless.”
By offsetting my slim, boyfriend jeans with a less form-fitting cardigan, I have opted for a more relaxed and, indeed, effortless look. This scarf is one of my favorite prints. It is fun and youthful, and it easily brightens up the look. Of course, I can’t forget to mention my gorgeous Longchamp bag that I eyed for nearly a year at the Keeneland Shop. It too, brings a surprising color to the mix here. I normally wouldn’t have thought to pair a light green with a bright orange, but this just seems to work. The orange pops with the colors incorporated into the scarf, and the green accents the ensemble.
I hope Tim Gunn would say, “well done” to this one.
