As many of you know, this week I am attending the Independent Fashion Bloggers Conference #IFBCON in New York City with Danielle of Lou What Wear.

I’m so excited about this experience and honored to be among some of the best bloggers and blog experts in the country. And I’m looking forward to sharing everything I learned with you!

In preparation for this trip, I started brainstorming my wardrobe the day I booked my flight (I will admit this was two months ago). I couldn’t help but start thinking: “What will I wear?” “Who will I see?” “What trends will be present?” 

For me, first impressions are truly everything. I think I am well-prepared to put my best foot forward for LexWhatWear on Day 1 of #IFBCON, even if my luggage weighs as much as I do… 

Today, day one of the conference, I am sporting a my city-esq look with a touch of Southern charm. As I embark on an unforgettable adventure, I challenge you to think big city and big picture. What is in your closet that transcends cultures and is adaptable in any city?

What I am wearing: Bar III Jacket, Target Top, Golden Stella Necklace, Forever 21 Jeans, Nine West Pumps, Lia Sophia Bracelet. 

City Tip: Skinny jeans are versatile no matter where you go. Roll them up a bit at the ankle to give your denim a modern cuff. Take a sleek, form-fitting blazer or classic trench and pair it with a print. Lastly, always include something colorful.
