Shine Bright Like A Diamond…

What better way to brighten an average Joe Monday – today’s post is all about sequin and sparkle inspiration. Shout out to my “blog-crush” Shelby of Glitter & Gingham for encouraging the return of my sequin jacket.

This bad boy has been hiding away in my closet since New Years 2010. Many would have bet that I’d toss this out after 1 wear (sounds like me)… but I knew I had some pretty high hopes for this piece. I spotted this statement jacket when sorting through my limited NYC wardrobe and those once high hopes revisited me. “Oh the places I could wear this jacket in Manhattan,” – from my inner blog voice.

I started styling this jacket mildly before considering all of my other options for layering. Let’s be honest… you could rock this jacket at any night club and feel absolutely fantastic (think Michael Jackson & a lot of dancing). But for the day, with jeans and a simple top underneath, I am back to my typical subtleness with a little pop added in.
