I’m always eyeing home update inspo, especially when it’s for every room in the house. I recently stumbled across some gorgeous finds that I think would be perfect for a super neutral home. I even found a play kitchen that I think EVERY playroom needs. We already have one, but when it sold out I started searching for one I would recommend. This one is a must have, that’s for sure. Anyone else constantly re-envisioning their home?!
It’s never too early to start dreaming up BIG things for the New Year! I mentioned earlier this week wanting to update my little, home office space. As I will continue to work from home into the first quarter of 2021, I find myself eyeing some other updates and decor I want / need. I’ve been in a mood board phase lately, so here’s another home update board for y’all. Eager to see what 2021 brings us all!
The remainder of 2020 will be about organization and preparing for a new year, and a fresh start in 2021. As much as we all are ready to put this crazy year behind us, I’m trying to remain present and focused for the remaining two months. I want to be intentional with my efforts, and make sure I prepare for the new year as much as possible. That being said, it’s time to GET ORGANIZED.
I am kicking off this series with the Laundry Room, because it’s one room I dislike the most in our house. It’s such a tight space in our current house, and hard to keep tidy and organized to find what I need. Considering that I work from home right now, I have no excuse to be behind on laundry. I need to create a calm and simple space, that isn’t too cluttered, and provides the products and accessories I need to keep our laundry process efficient.
This is where I lean on The Container Store. I can’t get enough of this place. I step one foot in that store and I’m dreaming up a totally new way to organize every square foot of my home. To keep the organization organized (say that 10x fast), I am going to be doing things room x room. If successful, I’ll show you before and afters, but let’s keep this a judgement free zone.
Today is such a FUN day on Lex What Wear as I do one of my first interior design collaborations with Minted. This company is literally to die for! From their stationery, to their custom wedding designs, home decor and exquisite art collection, Minted is by far one of the coolest companies I’ve had the honor of working with.
I’ve handpicked four of my favorite pieces, from the photography art, typography art, and limited edition art collections at Minted. Since Evan and I just purchased and moved into our first home, I thought there was no better time than to play with design. Interior design has always inspired me, from my teenage days of binge watching Trading Spaces, to my current 24/7 HGTV obsession. Although I’ve not studied interior design, I wish I had or could / would sometime in the future. I love watching things transform from the concept stage to the finishing touches stage. While we are still working with mix and match furniture and random odds and ends, I think we styled our four Minted prints just as we would.
We chose the office space to be our new gallery wall, and I think a lot more work will happen in here now that it’s a functional and inspiring space. Although we still have work to do in this room, my little blog space has become my own and it’s totally transformed from what it used to be. Here’s a look at the four pieces we styled.
