When a snow storm crashes your weekend, you’ve got to find a way to blog around it. So we headed indoors for today’s look: Bell Sleeves & Floral Prints. We haven’t quite fallen in love with the idea of shooting indoors, especially when there are so many special places outside and around us to take beautiful outfit pictures. At any rate, one of my favorite looks is here, despite snow, ice and wicked cool temperatures. Hope you enjoy!

SHAKING THINGS UP…
Every now and then when you find that something special, hanging in the middle of a rack at a thrift store in Manhattan, you think to yourself, “well wouldn’t that shake things up?” This plaid, feather and fringe number is definitely a mover and shaker, and it takes a big risk when you consider my wardrobe. I think it’s definitely playful and absolutely flirty, and it looks even better than I imagined. I have to admit I got quite a few head turns when attempting to take these pictures (hence all the bystanders in the back of the photos). How do you plan to shake things up this season? I think this is just the first of many posts like this!

LEXINGTON, KY
Tim and Ellie Harman, the husband-and-wife duo behind Lexington’s newest “best of everything” shop (you’ll find great art, jewelry, sweets and, of course, coffee here) have just the right ingredients for a successful business. I had the pleasure of stopping by and meeting the Harmans and saw firsthand that this budding business isn’t strictly “business,” it’s fun too. Greeted with the most wonderful of smiles, I knew I was in the right spot. My mom had talked about this place for weeks leading up to my visit. Her new favorite coffee spot had become a place for afternoon conversation and a little light shopping. Need I mention, High On Art And Coffee is quite the perfect environment to get your creative juices flowing? The atmosphere is inspirational, and the coffee and snacks are just as delicious. Both Tim and Ellie are pursuing their dream, and I find that more admirable and influential than anything. So I hope you support this local hot spot. Stop in and say hello, while enjoying your first of many cups of joe and sweet treats from High On Art And Coffee.

A Historic View Of A City So Grand
On gorgeous fall days (like we had this past weekend), an ideal afternoon is spent brunching with pals and strolling the High Line. The High Line is one of the most gorgeous, revitalized pieces of New York City’s past. In 1934, as part of the West Side Improvement Project, the High Line was opened to trains running from 34th Street to Spring Street.
The original tracks were designed to go through the center of blocks, rather than over the avenue in order to carry goods to and from Manhattan’s largest industrial district. Today, all thanks to Friends of the High Line, the historic tracks are preserved and open as a public space to New Yorkers and tourists.
Not to bore you, but you should absolutely 100 percent check out the High Line when visiting the city. Today’s {Fall Adventure} takes place near the end of the High Line around 31st Street. Thanks to my dear friend, and amazing designer Michael Mann, we were able to score some cool shots of our surroundings.
