When we found out we were expecting, one of the first things that excited me was planning the baby nursery. I’ve always dreamed of designing the perfect little space, and now I finally have the opportunity. I spent hours skimming Pinterest for the right decor inspiration, and once I knew I had it, I started visual planning.
Laying out my ideas in several different collages allowed Evan to clearly see the direction of the design. I knew I wanted to keep things very gender neutral, clean, and green. I love a modern meets bohemian vibe, and these were the original ideas behind my nursery design.
Since adopting the official concept, it’s been full steam ahead. We’ve picked out our crib, crib sheet, accent pillows, a rug and a few small accents. Slowly but surely it’s coming together just how I envisioned it.
Once I had a few key items, I knew I needed to bring some “natural” green elements to the space. I needed some plants, but with the number of animals we have, it’s important I look for artificial plants that are so good, they look real and natural. That’s when my search for the perfect, palm tree plant began. I found this gorgeous natural, golden cane palm tree, read the reviews, hit purchase, and had it delivered. It is truly the best looking artificial plant I have ever seen.
Now that I have most of my major items purchased, plus a few storage pieces, book shelves, and artwork, I am ready to stock my baby registry with all of the other baby essentials. I clearly can’t wait for the remainder of the pregnancy process, as I’ve had so much fun in the first trimester alone.
Any special requests for content that you guys want to see during my pregnancy? I also love sharing this with you guys, so ask away. Next up, once we know the gender, I will start sharing some wardrobe building articles. Cheers to BABY SHARP!
