Friday 5: July 15

#TGIF Let’s get this party started y’all! We all need a few things that will make us smile, considering all of the devastating news happening around the world right now. I try to seek something positive a few times per day to get my creative juices flowing and to keep my mind right. If you aren’t doing that, I highly suggest it. From daily prayer to watching Buzzfeed cat videos, I try “find the lovely” in every day. My best girlfriends are doing a bible study right now all about “finding the lovely” in any situation. They have impacted me more than they think with that message. So let’s “find the lovely” in this beautiful Friday and get are weekend started!

2. HUSTLE HARD

If y'all haven't heard of Rover, you need to hear about it! Whether you have a dog and need a sitter or you're looking to keep dogs, it's an amazing outlet. I have been an active Rover sitter since November 2015 and it is one of the most rewarding jobs I have ever had. Evan and I do not currently have a dog, so we welcome other dogs to board with us while their owner's are away. It's an awesome site / app that allows you to run your own pet sitting business, and provides you with the tools to succeed. So if you wonder why I have a new do on Snapchat every weekend, it's because I get to play with dogs ALL the time. Use my code: LEXWHATWEAR20 for promo offers!

3. SOUTHERN WEDDING TRADITION

A lot of people have asked about the tradition of "burying the bottle" in the south before your wedding. Basically, Southern folklore says that if you bury a bottle a bourbon at the site of your wedding, then it won't rain on your wedding day. According to tradition, you must complete this exactly one month before the wedding and the bottle needs to be full and buried upside down. This is what will keep the rain away. So you can still do a rain dance or you can go full Southern and bury your favorite bourbon!

4. DON'T STOP. WON'T STOP.

If you've seen me this week you're probably wondering why I look like I just ran the NYC Marathon. No I'm not quite ready for that, but this week I took a leap of faith and teamed up with a local Nashville trainer to get this bridal bod 100 percent. I know I only have a month before the wedding, so I'm not looking for a miracle. However, I'm putting in the work now, and will continue to so that I feel my best. I now introduce you to Mike Krajewski aka MKfitness! He's a baller who absolutely kicked my a** and I needed it. Let's do this: 42 DAYS!

5. NEW ADVENTURES

This week I had the pleasure of meeting a beautiful and hard working business owner. I admire her drive and passion for what she does and truly believe in her business. She is "the everything" behind Hadley Rae Boutique, here in Tennessee. She does it all from the steaming to the social media. We met over coffee to discuss a few exciting things, and I'm thrilled to say we will be working together a little this summer and fall. I know you all will love her stuff, so be sure to check it out! 1. The bourbon bottle worked for us! It poured cats and dogs the weekend of our outdoor wedding. It stopped raining right before our first look so we could get in an hour of photos. Poured in between the end of photos and the (outdoor) ceremony, and stopped only as I walked down the isle (outside). We had ten minutes after the ceremony to squeeze in a few family photos before the sky opened up again and rained the rest of the wedding. It was unlike anything we’ve ever experienced with the way the weather stopped just when we needed it to! Make sure to bury that bottle!
