Week 12 has been all about soaking up every second of our time together, just Mom and McLean. I can’t believe our 3 months together, just the two of us, is almost over. Next week is our final week before I go back to work, and I can’t tell you how emotional it makes me feel just thinking about it. They aren’t kidding when they say it goes by fast.
This week we also did a trial run at daycare, and Mom surprisingly held it together. I think knowing that I would soon go pick up my little guy, helped make the drop off a little easier. His teachers are wonderful, and he’s in a room full of sweet little babes. I think McLean was overwhelmed with all of the noise and chaos that comes with 7 other babies, but I know he will soon adjust and love it there. If you are a new mom like me, I highly recommend a trial run at your daycare before your maternity leave ends. It helps make the transition for both Mom and baby easier, and gives you an idea of timing for your new morning routine.
We also made a trip to the pumpkin patch this week. Truth be told, we didn’t even make it in to the pumpkin patch, just to the entrance. By the time we got to Franklin, parked amongst the thousand other cars, and got McLean situated, we were overwhelmed to say the least. Then of course McLean soiled his diaper as we were walking in, making him a fussy little bear. We documented our time at the entrance of the patch, which thankfully was beautiful and looked like a real pumpkin patch itself. So we can at least say we took him to the pumpkin patch his first fall.
Today is PJ day in our house, so McLean and I will cuddle in our PJ’s until Dad gets home from work. There’s nothing I love more than our lazy days, snuggled up on the couch. Have a great weekend y’all!
