Yes, I still bleed blue everyone. My roots may lie here in Kentucky with the BBN and Wildcat fanatics, however, I owe a great deal of gratitude and also proudly support my alma mater, Western Kentucky University.
When WKU plays UK in any sport, I always face an internal battle. What to wear, what to wear, what to wear? Part of me thinks blue, yet part of me screams red. Then comes the Twitter battle…which I always intend to stay out of. Back and forth, back and forth, the battle over the color you wear begins.
I have always said that when all else fails, just be you. Keeping that in mind, this occasion calls for me to just be myself. So thank the heavens that red and blue look good together, girls. This past weekend, red + blue combos were everywhere. Contrary to many people’s beliefs, you can cheer for more than one school. With my blue necklace, red bracelet, red nails, and a WKU face tat, I was cheering on both teams – and playing both fields. (Plus, I had a tiny inkling WKU would pull this one off.) All you need are a few basics of the two colors you’re trying to support. Just make sure the colors complement each other.
To help me share with my readers how to pull off a duo-tailgate look, I am bringing my girlfriends into the mix. You will see a lot of red, and some blue too. (Plus, some pretty fab red cowboy boots!) Now that I am in my mid-20s, get togethers like this one provide ample fun, lots of pics, and did I mention fun? These are my roommates, sorority sisters, and great friends. Enjoy, and way to go TOPS! (My other voice is saying, “Come on Cats, we’re still with you!”)
Get your tailgate looks here: Forever 21, Bluetique, Gap, Express, Calypso, Francesca’s, TJMAXX.
XOXO – Alex
