Yes you guessed it, I am moving to New York City! It’s hard to believe, but my longtime dream of living in the big city has become reality, and I could not be more excited, nervous, and eager to see what this path has in store for me.
Life provides us many opportunities, and this one is an opportunity of a lifetime for a gal like me. I will be moving in early January, and going straight to work with designer-friend Satya and her husband. Of course, I could not be telling you all this without the support of my parents, family, boyfriend, and friends. These are the people who will be rooting for me all the way from Kentucky to Manhattan. Thank you to each of you – you know who you are.
I cannot begin to describe the emotion and excitement I feel when thinking of the big move and making my way in New York. I’m sure there will be more tests and tribulations than imaginable, but my motto is fall down seven times, get up eight. I’m determined to survive to tell you all about it.
The big question I keep getting is will I continue to blog for Lex What Wear. The answer is a big YES! What better way to style-spot for Lexington than on “location” from New York City, the style mecca of the world? I truly believe I will be able to share so many things I would have never been able to before. My plan is simple; “Style Spotting For Lexington, Live From NYC.” This will include daily experiences, work opportunities, the ins and outs of city life, new trends and street styles, and of course outfit posts from events, work, and weekend adventures. I hope those of you who have been loyal readers thus far will continue to read, reach out, and support this blog.
It is my promise to you all to remain true to my roots, remain humble and always appreciative, and bring to Lexington all that I learn and experience. You know what they say: You can take the girl out of Kentucky but you can’t take Kentucky out of the girl.
P.S. – A BIG shout out to my 29 cheerleaders who have inspired me to follow my dreams and never stop believing. I have been honored to coach each of you and watch you grow over the years. I am tremendously proud to call you “my girls.” I’ll be cheering you on all the way from NYC!
